312 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
413 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
514 3 represented in the General Assembly:
615 4 Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by changing
716 5 Sections 8b and 8b.20 as follows:

918 7 Sec. 8b. Jurisdiction B - Merit and fitness.
1019 8 (a) For positions in the State service subject to the
1120 9 jurisdiction of the Department of Central Management Services
1221 10 with respect to selection and tenure on the basis of merit and
1322 11 fitness, those matters specified in this Section and Sections
1423 12 8b.1 through 8b.20 8b.17.
1524 13 (b) Application, testing and hiring procedures for all
1625 14 State employment vacancies for positions not exempt under
1726 15 Section 4c shall be reduced to writing and made available to
1827 16 the public via the Department's website or equivalent. All
1928 17 vacant positions subject to Jurisdiction B shall be posted.
2029 18 Vacant positions shall be posted on the Department's website
2130 19 in such a way that potential job candidates can easily
2231 20 identify and apply for job openings and identify the county in
2332 21 which the vacancy is located. Vacant positions shall be
2433 22 updated at least weekly.
2534 23 (c) If a position experiences a vacancy rate that is
