1  AN ACT concerning regulation.
2  Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3  represented in the General Assembly:
4  Section 5. The Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health
5  Practitioners Act is amended by changing Section 6 as follows:
6  (225 ILCS 140/6)
7  Sec. 6. Recognition of volunteer health practitioners
8  licensed in other states.
9  (a) While an emergency declaration is in effect, a
10  volunteer health practitioner, registered with a registration
11  system that complies with Section 5 and licensed and in good
12  standing in the state upon which the practitioner's
13  registration is based, may practice in this State to the
14  extent authorized by this Act as if the practitioner were
15  licensed in this State. If a state licensed health or mental
16  health professional with a valid license from another state or
17  territory is operating under the auspices of the American Red
18  Cross, the professional may practice in this State to the
19  extent authorized by this Act as if the practitioner were
20  licensed in this State, regardless of whether an emergency
21  declaration is in effect.
22  (b) A volunteer health practitioner qualified under
23  subsection (a) is not entitled to the protections of this Act

1  if any license of the practitioner is suspended, revoked, or
2  subject to an agency order limiting or restricting practice
3  privileges, or has been voluntarily terminated under threat of
4  sanction.
