4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
5	5	3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Maulana
6	6	4 Ali Waller Sr. of Peoria, who passed away on February 11, 2025;
7	7	5 and
8	8	6 WHEREAS, Maulana Waller was born in Peoria to Henry Waller
9	9	7 and Hazel Williams on May 4, 1971; he graduated from Manual
10	10	8 High School in 1989 and attended Westmar University; he
11	11	9 received his certified nursing assistant license from Illinois
12	12	10 Central College and became his sister Angie's caregiver; and
13	13	11 WHEREAS, Maulana Waller was affectionately known as
14	14	12 "Skanie"; he played a vital role in his nieces and nephews
15	15	13 lives, always telling them the truth and keeping it real; he
16	16	14 came from a big family that he loved and protected; his faith
17	17	15 was very important to him; and
18	18	16 WHEREAS, Maulana Waller had a love for music and had
19	19	17 notebooks full of raps; he enjoyed reading books of all
20	20	18 genres, cooking, and telling jokes; and
21	21	19 WHEREAS, Maulana Waller was preceded in death by his
22	22	20 father, Henry Waller; his brother, Henry Waller Jr.; his
23	23	21 sisters, Angela and Twila Waller; and all of his grandparents;

36	36	5 Waller, and Terence Young; his sisters, Erika Waller, Corine
37	37	6 (Kerry) Walker, Tamika Williams, Towanna (Kim) Wyatt, and
38	38	7 Micah (Larry) Davis; his uncle, Eddie (Kay) Ellis Jr.; his
39	39	8 special aunts and uncles, Vinnie Bey, Henrietta Williams,
40	40	9 Evelyn (James) Pierce, Georgia Common-Stevenson, Josephine
41	41	10 Davis, Ernestine Brock, Bernice Robinson, Betty Williams,
42	42	11 Michelle (Barney) Carter, Shirley Williams, Willie (Helen)

49	49	18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
50	50	19 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
51	51	20 we mourn the passing of Maulana Ali Waller Sr. and extend our
52	52	21 sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
53	53	22 and loved him; and be it further
