1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Gerald M. Borries of Teutopolis, who
4 passed away on December 25, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries, the son of Joseph E. "Specs" and
6 Harriet C. "Sis" (Pruemer) Borries, was born in Teutopolis on
7 July 7, 1949; he married Mary L. Roberts on July 6, 1985; and
8 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries worked on his family's farm, in
9 the seed corn business, and on tractors; and
10 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was a member of St. Francis of
11 Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Men's
12 Sodality; and
13 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries enjoyed collecting tractors, and
14 he was a strong supporter of the right-to-life movement and
15 President Donald J. Trump; and
16 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was preceded in death by his
17 parents; and
18 WHEREAS, Gerald Borries is survived by his wife of 39
19 years, Mary; his daughter, Lisa (Josh) Hutson; two

1 grandchildren; his brothers, Thomas and Leonard; his uncle,
2 Gerald Pruemer; and his special cousin, Tanner Pruemer;
3 therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6 Gerald M. Borries and extend our sincere condolences to his
7 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8 further
