| 5 | 5 | | 3 to learn of the death of Paul H. Saletnik of Des Plaines, who |

| 7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Paul Saletnik was born in Chicago on August 27, |

| 8 | 8 | | 6 1950; he attended Gordon Tech High School, where he discovered |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 7 a lifelong love for music and drumming; he earned a bachelor's |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 8 degree in architecture at the University of Illinois Chicago; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 9 and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10 WHEREAS, Paul Saletnik worked as an architect with the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 11 Chicago & North Western Railroad for 22 years and then as a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 12 kitchen designer for Home Depot for 22 years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 13 WHEREAS, Paul Saletnik, a proud Des Plaines resident of 52 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 14 years, served on the city's zoning board of appeals for 16 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 15 years and then, starting in 2016, on the newly combined |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 16 planning and zoning board; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 17 WHEREAS, Paul Saletnik also served on the board of the Des |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 18 Plaines Theater Preservation Society, which worked to save the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 19 former movie theater at 1476 Miner St. from destruction and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 20 was bought by the city in 2016, renovated, and reopened as a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 21 venue for live entertainment in 2021; he will especially be |
|---|
