44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan of
66 4 Springfield, who passed away on January 28, 2025; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan, the son of Joseph A. and Loretta
88 6 (Foster) Londrigan, was born in Springfield on May 10, 1937;
99 7 he attended Hazel Dell Elementary School, Little Flower
1010 8 School, and Cathedral Boys High School, where he was an
1111 9 All-City football player; he graduated from the University of
1212 10 Notre Dame, where he was chosen as the first captain of the
1313 11 university's inaugural varsity swim team, and he received his
1414 12 Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois; he served in the
1515 13 U.S. Air National Guard on kitchen duty and later in the Judge
1616 14 Advocate General's Office; he also served in the U.S. Navy
1717 15 Reserve from 1962 to 1980, rising to the rank of commander; he
1818 16 married Carol Ann Fish at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
1919 17 Conception on August 31, 1963; and
2020 18 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan first worked as an Assistant United
2121 19 States Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice under
2222 20 Robert F. Kennedy; he later worked at his father's firm of
2323 21 Londrigan and Londrigan before creating his own firm,
2424 22 Londrigan and Potter, later known as Londrigan, Potter &
2525 23 Randle, P.C.; during his career, he served as president of the

3434 1 Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and won a landmark verdict
3535 2 for families in Taylorville who were exposed to environmental

3737 4 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a member of the Catholic Church
3838 5 of St. Jude in Rochester and the Church of the Little Flower in
3939 6 Springfield; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus,
4040 7 the YMCA, Lincoln Memorial Gardens, the International Star
4141 8 Class Yacht Racing Association, and the Island Bay Yacht Club;
4242 9 and
4343 10 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan enjoyed sailing, fishing, skiing,
4444 11 and flying; he won the Great Lakes Championship in the Star
4545 12 Class and the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac in 2012; and
4646 13 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a devoted husband, father, and
4747 14 grandfather; he took great pride in his children's
4848 15 achievements and loved creating special memories for his
4949 16 grandchildren; and
5050 17 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was preceded in death by his
5151 18 parents; his wife, Carol; his son, Patrick Joseph Londrigan;
5252 19 and his brother, Michael Londrigan; and
5353 20 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan is survived by his children, Joseph

6666 2 uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
6767 3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
6868 4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6969 5 Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan and extend our sincere
7070 6 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7171 7 him; and be it further
7272 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7373 9 presented to the family of Tom Londrigan as an expression of
7474 10 our deepest sympathy.
