3	3	1 SENATE RESOLUTION
4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
5	5	3 to learn of the death of Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan of
6	6	4 Springfield, who passed away on January 28, 2025; and
7	7	5 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan, the son of Joseph A. and Loretta
8	8	6 (Foster) Londrigan, was born in Springfield on May 10, 1937;
9	9	7 he attended Hazel Dell Elementary School, Little Flower
10	10	8 School, and Cathedral Boys High School, where he was an
11	11	9 All-City football player; he graduated from the University of
12	12	10 Notre Dame, where he was chosen as the first captain of the
13	13	11 university's inaugural varsity swim team, and he received his
14	14	12 Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois; he served in the
15	15	13 U.S. Air National Guard on kitchen duty and later in the Judge
16	16	14 Advocate General's Office; he also served in the U.S. Navy
17	17	15 Reserve from 1962 to 1980, rising to the rank of commander; he
18	18	16 married Carol Ann Fish at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
19	19	17 Conception on August 31, 1963; and
20	20	18 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan first worked as an Assistant United
21	21	19 States Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice under
22	22	20 Robert F. Kennedy; he later worked at his father's firm of
23	23	21 Londrigan and Londrigan before creating his own firm,
24	24	22 Londrigan and Potter, later known as Londrigan, Potter &
25	25	23 Randle, P.C.; during his career, he served as president of the

34	34	1 Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and won a landmark verdict
35	35	2 for families in Taylorville who were exposed to environmental
36	36	3 carcinogens; and
37	37	4 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a member of the Catholic Church
38	38	5 of St. Jude in Rochester and the Church of the Little Flower in
39	39	6 Springfield; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus,
40	40	7 the YMCA, Lincoln Memorial Gardens, the International Star
41	41	8 Class Yacht Racing Association, and the Island Bay Yacht Club;
42	42	9 and
43	43	10 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan enjoyed sailing, fishing, skiing,
44	44	11 and flying; he won the Great Lakes Championship in the Star
45	45	12 Class and the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac in 2012; and
46	46	13 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a devoted husband, father, and
47	47	14 grandfather; he took great pride in his children's
48	48	15 achievements and loved creating special memories for his
49	49	16 grandchildren; and
50	50	17 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was preceded in death by his
51	51	18 parents; his wife, Carol; his son, Patrick Joseph Londrigan;
52	52	19 and his brother, Michael Londrigan; and
53	53	20 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan is survived by his children, Joseph
54	54	21 P. (Amanda) Londrigan, Thomas (Betsy) Londrigan Jr., and

65	65	1 Genevieve Turner; nine grandchildren; and several aunts,
66	66	2 uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
67	67	3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
68	68	4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
69	69	5 Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan and extend our sincere
70	70	6 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
71	71	7 him; and be it further
72	72	8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
73	73	9 presented to the family of Tom Londrigan as an expression of
74	74	10 our deepest sympathy.
