SR0164LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan of 4 Springfield, who passed away on January 28, 2025; and 5 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan, the son of Joseph A. and Loretta 6 (Foster) Londrigan, was born in Springfield on May 10, 1937; 7 he attended Hazel Dell Elementary School, Little Flower 8 School, and Cathedral Boys High School, where he was an 9 All-City football player; he graduated from the University of 10 Notre Dame, where he was chosen as the first captain of the 11 university's inaugural varsity swim team, and he received his 12 Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois; he served in the 13 U.S. Air National Guard on kitchen duty and later in the Judge 14 Advocate General's Office; he also served in the U.S. Navy 15 Reserve from 1962 to 1980, rising to the rank of commander; he 16 married Carol Ann Fish at the Cathedral of the Immaculate 17 Conception on August 31, 1963; and 18 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan first worked as an Assistant United 19 States Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice under 20 Robert F. Kennedy; he later worked at his father's firm of 21 Londrigan and Londrigan before creating his own firm, 22 Londrigan and Potter, later known as Londrigan, Potter & 23 Randle, P.C.; during his career, he served as president of the SR0164 LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164- 2 -LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 - 2 - LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 - 2 - LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r 1 Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and won a landmark verdict 2 for families in Taylorville who were exposed to environmental 3 carcinogens; and 4 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a member of the Catholic Church 5 of St. Jude in Rochester and the Church of the Little Flower in 6 Springfield; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 7 the YMCA, Lincoln Memorial Gardens, the International Star 8 Class Yacht Racing Association, and the Island Bay Yacht Club; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan enjoyed sailing, fishing, skiing, 11 and flying; he won the Great Lakes Championship in the Star 12 Class and the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac in 2012; and 13 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was a devoted husband, father, and 14 grandfather; he took great pride in his children's 15 achievements and loved creating special memories for his 16 grandchildren; and 17 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan was preceded in death by his 18 parents; his wife, Carol; his son, Patrick Joseph Londrigan; 19 and his brother, Michael Londrigan; and 20 WHEREAS, Tom Londrigan is survived by his children, Joseph 21 P. (Amanda) Londrigan, Thomas (Betsy) Londrigan Jr., and SR0164 - 2 - LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164- 3 -LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 - 3 - LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r SR0164 - 3 - LRB104 12186 ECR 22288 r 1 Genevieve Turner; nine grandchildren; and several aunts, 2 uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it 3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 5 Thomas Foster "Tom" Londrigan and extend our sincere 6 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 7 him; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to the family of Tom Londrigan as an expression of 10 our deepest sympathy.
