44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Alanson P. "Hap" Holly of Des Plaines,
66 4 who passed away on February 24, 2025; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was born in La Jolla, California to
88 6 Forrest Merton and Jean (Treadway) Holly on April 11, 1951; he
99 7 attended Principia College in Elsah; he married Stephanie, a
1010 8 camper he met while working as a camp counselor in Buena Vista
1111 9 Colorado at Adventure/Unlimited Ranches, on August 28, 1976;
1212 10 and
1313 11 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly published a blog, the RAIN Report,
1414 12 and was an avid amateur radio operator, operating under the
1515 13 call sign KC9RP; and
1616 14 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was a kind man with a wonderful
1717 15 sense of humor; he was a member of the Lions Club and
1818 16 Toastmasters International in Des Plaines; he and Stephanie
1919 17 were active members of the Emergency Management Agency; and
2020 18 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was preceded in death by his
2121 19 parents and his brothers, Forrest Holly Jr. and William (the

3131 1 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly is survived by his wife of 48
3232 2 years, Stephanie Holly; his sister, Faith (the late Tom)
3333 3 Holly-Hall; his sister-in-law, Joyce Holly; and several nieces
3434 4 and nephews; therefore, be it
3535 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
3636 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3737 7 Alanson P. "Hap" Holly and extend our sincere condolences to
3838 8 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3939 9 further
4040 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4141 11 presented to the family of Alanson Holly as an expression of
