"Hap" Holly of Des Plaines, 4 who passed away on February 24, 2025; and 5 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was born in La Jolla, California to 6 Forrest Merton and Jean (Treadway) Holly on April 11, 1951; he 7 attended Principia College in Elsah; he married Stephanie, a 8 camper he met while working as a camp counselor in Buena Vista 9 Colorado at Adventure/Unlimited Ranches, on August 28, 1976; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly published a blog, the RAIN Report, 12 and was an avid amateur radio operator, operating under the 13 call sign KC9RP; and 14 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was a kind man with a wonderful 15 sense of humor; he was a member of the Lions Club and 16 Toastmasters International in Des Plaines; he and Stephanie 17 were active members of the Emergency Management Agency; and 18 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was preceded in death by his 19 parents and his brothers, Forrest Holly Jr. and William (the 20 late Cher) Holly; and SR0169 LRB104 12712 MST 23605 r SR0169- 2 -LRB104 12712 MST 23605 r SR0169 - 2 - LRB104 12712 MST 23605 r SR0169 - 2 - LRB104 12712 MST 23605 r 1 WHEREAS, Alanson Holly is survived by his wife of 48 2 years, Stephanie Holly; his sister, Faith (the late Tom) 3 Holly-Hall; his sister-in-law, Joyce Holly; and several nieces 4 and nephews; therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 7 Alanson P. "Hap" Holly and extend our sincere condolences to 8 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 9 further 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 11 presented to the family of Alanson Holly as an expression of 12 our deepest sympathy.
