SENATE BILL No. 141 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning motor vehicles. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: 1 SECTION 1. IC 9-13-2-6.4 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 3 1, 2023]: Sec. 6.4. "Automated vehicle" means a motor vehicle in 4 which at least one (1) aspect of a safety critical control function 5 occurs without direct input from an individual driving the motor 6 vehicle. 7 SECTION 2. IC 9-13-2-74.3 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 8 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 9 1, 2023]: Sec. 74.3. "Human safety operator" means an individual 10 who controls the entire dynamic driving task for an automated 11 vehicle. 12 SECTION 3.
