SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Charles Morris
2 on being named the Indiana Township Association's 2022
3 Charles Bogden Memorial Township Board Member of the
4 Year.
5 Whereas, Charles P. Morris has served as a board member
6 for Guilford Township, located in Plainfield, Indiana, since
7 1979;
8 Whereas, Shortly after joining the Guilford Township
9 Board, Charles assisted in designating 200 acres of park land
10 for the Plainfield community with the 1984 establishment of
11 Hummel Park;
12 Whereas, With the support of the Township Board, Hummel
13 Park now boasts countless facilities and amenities, including a
14 community center, performing arts center, events pavilion,
15 gazebos, shelter houses, playgrounds, accessible paved trails,
16 restrooms, splash pad, sledding hill, basketball courts, sand
17 volleyball courts, and ball fields;
18 Whereas, In 2010, Charles worked to reorganize the fire
19 services within Plainfield and Guilford Township, eventually

1 establishing the Plainfield Fire Territory in order to meet the
2 increasing fire service needs of over 30,000 Township
3 residents;
4 Whereas, During his tenure on the Township Board,
5 Charles partnered with Hendricks County Meals on Wheels,
6 Sheltering Wings center for domestic violence victims, and
7 LINK transportation through Hendricks County Senior Services
8 in support of various township assistance initiatives; and
9 Whereas, Due to his dedication and leadership in Guilford
10 Township for the past 44 years, Charles was named the 2022
11 Charles Bogden Memorial Township Board Member of the
12 Year by the Indiana Township Association: Therefore,
13 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
14 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
15 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates Charles
16 Morris on being named the Indiana Township Association's
17 2022 Charles Bogden Memorial Township Board Member of
18 the Year.
19 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
20 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Charles Morris.
