SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring the Indianapolis
2 Metropolitan Military Honor Guard (IMMHG).
3 Whereas, The Indianapolis Metropolitan Military Honor
4 Guard (IMMHG) was established on September 22, 2014, by
5 respectable military service veteran volunteers who work hard
6 each day in rendering military honors for our veterans;
7 Whereas, The IMMHG has served as an authorized
8 provider of military funeral honors by the United States
9 Department of Defense, performing an estimated 3,372 funeral
10 services and rites for local veterans since 2014;
11 Whereas, With an active roster of 25 veterans, IMMHG
12 members have accrued an estimated 92,771 volunteer hours,
13 477,166 drive miles, and have fired over 30,348 rounds of
14 ammunition throughout their volunteer work;
15 Whereas, In addition to services and rites, IMMHG has
16 provided 77 other services, including posting the colors and
17 flag-folding ceremonies, among other volunteer efforts at
18 special events;

1 Whereas, The IMMHG was chosen as the first team to fire
2 military volleys at the new Crown Hill Columbarium National
3 Veterans Memorial Cemetery; and
4 Whereas, It is fitting that the Indiana Senate honors the
5 IMMHG for their commitment to rendering military honors to
6 all veterans regardless of religion, race, or affiliation with a
7 veteran's service organization: Therefore,
8 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors the
11 Indianapolis Metropolitan Military Honor Guard.
12 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
13 to transmit copies of this Resolution to all members of the
14 Indianapolis Metropolitan Military Honor Guard.
