SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Eddie Langford upon
2 his retirement and thanking him for 29 years of exceptional
3 service to the Indiana Senate.
4 Whereas, Eddie Langford was born on January 25, 1957,
5 to Eddie Langford, Jr. and Laura Langford, and graduated
6 from Los Angeles High School in Los Angeles, California;
7 Whereas, Eddie began his career with the Indiana Senate
8 during the 1993 legislative session as session staff, and was
9 hired into the full-time staff by Principal Secretary Carolyn
10 Tinkle in September 1994;
11 Whereas, Throughout his years in the Senate, Eddie
12 assisted staff and legislators in maintaining and improving the
13 overall quality of the Senate Chamber, committee rooms, and
14 workplace spaces as a member of the five-person Senate
15 custodial team;
16 Whereas, During the COVID-19 pandemic, Eddie was
17 instrumental in preventing any lapse or break in the legislative
18 session through around-the-clock cleanliness and sanitation
19 procedures, the installation of acrylic barriers, and physical

1 adjustments to workspaces and committee rooms to best protect
2 Senators, staff, and visitors;
3 Whereas, In addition to his time in the Senate, Eddie spent
4 35 years as a supervisor at the professional building attached
5 to the Winona Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, enjoyed
6 working on his cars, and focused on spending time with family
7 members in California and Connecticut;
8 Whereas, Upon his retirement, Eddie plans to spend more
9 time with his family, including his wife Donna, children, and
10 grandchildren, traveling on cruise lines, and honing his craft
11 in remodeling, outdoor gardening, and landscaping at his
12 Indianapolis home; and
13 Whereas, Eddie is a cherished and vital member of the
14 Senate family who will be greatly missed by staff and
15 legislators: Therefore,
16 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
17 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
18 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Eddie
19 Langford upon his retirement from the Indiana Senate, thanks
20 him for his 29 outstanding years of service, and wishes him all
21 the best for years to come.
22 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
23 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Eddie Langford and his
24 family.
