HOUSE BILL No. 1054 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning health. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: 1 SECTION 1. IC 16-41-39.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 2 AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE 3 JULY 1, 2024]: 4 Chapter 39.5. Childhood Scoliosis Screening 5 Sec. 1. A health care provider who provides health care services 6 to a child who is at least nine (9) years of age but less than thirteen 7 (13) years of age shall, at the child's annual visit, do the following: 8 (1) Determine whether the child has received a scoliosis 9 screening in the last twelve (12) months. 10 (2) If the child has received a scoliosis screening in the last 11 twelve (12) months, determine the results of the screening 12 and, if applicable, any recommended treatment. 13 (3) If the child has not received a scoliosis screening in the last 14 twelve (12) months, offer a scoliosis screening. 15 Sec. 2.
