2828 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning state
2929 offices and administration.
3030 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3131 1 SECTION 1. IC 4-13-1-4.7 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
3232 2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3333 3 1, 2024]: Sec. 4.7. (a) The department may not consider a
3434 4 qualifying member's former or current status as a stay-at-home
3535 5 parent as a negative factor in determining whether to certify the
3636 6 following enterprises:
3737 7 (1) A minority business enterprise (as defined in
3838 8 IC 4-13-16.5-1(h)).
3939 9 (2) A veteran owned small business (as defined in
4040 10 IC 4-13-16.5-1(p)).
4141 11 (3) A women's business enterprise (as defined in
4242 12 IC 4-13-16.5-1(q)).
4343 13 (b) The department shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to
4444 14 implement this section.
