RESOLUTION No. ____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing South Bend
2 Police Officer Brian Meador.
3 Whereas, On the evening of December 12, 2023, South Bend
4 Police Officer Brian Meador's quick response and training
5 helped save a child's life;
6 Whereas, A couple was taking their child to the hospital when
7 the child became unresponsive in the car, so they stopped at the
8 nearby police station for help;
9 Whereas, Officer Meador heard a commotion in the lobby of
10 the department and rushed over to see if he could help;
11 Whereas, Officer Meador, without hesitation, began
12 performing chest compressions on the child until medics
13 arrived;
14 Whereas, By the time medics arrived in the lobby, the child
15 was once again responsive; and
16 Whereas, Thanks to Officer Meador's quick actions, the child
17 is alive and continuing to recover: Therefore,
18 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
19 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
20 the Senate concurring:
21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly recognizes
22 the swift and heroic actions of South Bend Police Department
23 Officer Brian Meador.

1 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
2 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to
3 Representative Maureen Bauer for distribution.
