32	32		RESOLUTION No. 3
33	33		A JOINT RESOLUTION requesting Congress to call a Convention
34	34		for proposing Amendments to the Constitution of the United States
35	35		concerning congressional term limits.
36	36		Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
37	37		1 SECTION 1. That the General Assembly of the State of Indiana
38	38		2 makes application to the Congress of the United States for a
39	39		3 Convention for proposing Amendments under Article V of the
40	40		4 Constitution of the United States to propose amendments to the
41	41		5 Constitution of the United States.
42	42		6 SECTION 2. That such a convention called under Article V be
43	43		7 limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United
44	44		8 States that do both of the following:
45	45		9 (1) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be
46	46		10 elected as a Member of the United States House of
47	47		11 Representatives.
48	48		12 (2) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be

50	50		1 elected as a Member of the United States Senate.
51	51		2 SECTION 3. That this application shall be considered as covering
52	52		3 the same subject matter as the applications from other States to
53	53		4 Congress to call a convention to set a limit on the number of terms that
54	54		5 a person may be elected to the House of Representatives of the
55	55		6 Congress of the United States and the Senate of the United States.
56	56		7 SECTION 4. That this application shall be aggregated with
57	57		8 applications from the other States for the same subject for the purpose
58	58		9 of attaining the two-thirds of states necessary to require Congress to
59	59		10 call a limited convention on this subject, but shall not be aggregated
60	60		11 with any other applications on any other subject.
61	61		12 SECTION 5. That this application constitutes a continuing
62	62		13 application in accordance with Article V of the Constitution of the
63	63		14 United States until the legislatures of at least two-thirds of the several
64	64		15 states have made applications on the same subject.
65	65		16 SECTION 6. That certified copies of this resolution be sent to each
66	66		17 of the following:
67	67		18 (1) Each of the presiding officers of the Congress.
68	68		19 (2) The Secretary of the United States Senate and the Clerk of the
69	69		20 United States House of Representatives.
70	70		21 (3) The presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature
71	71		22 in the United States.
72	72		23 (4) The members of the Congress from Indiana.
73	73		24 SECTION 7. That sending certified copies of this resolution to the
74	74		25 presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature in the United
75	75		26 States serves as an invitation to the legislatures of those states to join
76	76		27 in this call for an Article V convention.
