3333 A JOINT RESOLUTION requesting Congress to call a Convention
3434 for proposing Amendments to the Constitution of the United States
3535 concerning congressional term limits.
3636 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3737 1 SECTION 1. That the General Assembly of the State of Indiana
3838 2 makes application to the Congress of the United States for a
3939 3 Convention for proposing Amendments under Article V of the
4040 4 Constitution of the United States to propose amendments to the
4141 5 Constitution of the United States.
4242 6 SECTION 2. That such a convention called under Article V be
4343 7 limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United
4444 8 States that do both of the following:
4545 9 (1) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be
4646 10 elected as a Member of the United States House of
4747 11 Representatives.
4848 12 (2) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be

5050 1 elected as a Member of the United States Senate.
5151 2 SECTION 3. That this application shall be considered as covering
5252 3 the same subject matter as the applications from other States to
5353 4 Congress to call a convention to set a limit on the number of terms that
5454 5 a person may be elected to the House of Representatives of the
5555 6 Congress of the United States and the Senate of the United States.
5656 7 SECTION 4. That this application shall be aggregated with
5757 8 applications from the other States for the same subject for the purpose
5858 9 of attaining the two-thirds of states necessary to require Congress to
5959 10 call a limited convention on this subject, but shall not be aggregated
6060 11 with any other applications on any other subject.
6161 12 SECTION 5. That this application constitutes a continuing
6262 13 application in accordance with Article V of the Constitution of the
6363 14 United States until the legislatures of at least two-thirds of the several
6464 15 states have made applications on the same subject.
6565 16 SECTION 6. That certified copies of this resolution be sent to each
6666 17 of the following:
6767 18 (1) Each of the presiding officers of the Congress.
6868 19 (2) The Secretary of the United States Senate and the Clerk of the
6969 20 United States House of Representatives.
7070 21 (3) The presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature
7171 22 in the United States.
7272 23 (4) The members of the Congress from Indiana.
7373 24 SECTION 7. That sending certified copies of this resolution to the
7474 25 presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature in the United
7575 26 States serves as an invitation to the legislatures of those states to join
7676 27 in this call for an Article V convention.
