1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring South Terrace
2 Elementary School of Wadesville, Indiana.
3 Whereas, South Terrace Elementary School was recognized
4 at the Indiana State Capitol on February 15, 2024, for
5 outstanding reading achievement;
6 Whereas, South Terrace Elementary School had a pass rate
7 of 98 percent on the 2023 IREAD test, which surpassed the
8 state goal of 95 percent and the state average of 81.9 percent;
9 Whereas, Principal Erin Koester accepted the recognition on
10 behalf of the school;
11 Whereas, The dedicated 3rd grade teachers that worked
12 tirelessly in guiding their students to reach these achievements
13 are Toni Wilson, Heather Brandle, and Sara Daugherty; and

1 Whereas, Despite the last few years being some of the most
2 challenging years in education due to learning loss and impacts
3 of the COVID-19 pandemic, South Terrace Elementary School
4 was able to excel and score exceptionally well on their IREAD
5 test: Therefore,
6 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
7 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
8 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
9 honors South Terrace Elementary School of Wadesville,
10 Indiana, for their pass rate of 98 percent on the 2023 IREAD
11 test.
12 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
13 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
14 Representative Wendy McNamara for distribution.
