7	7	1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing Indiana's aluminum
8	8	2 recycling industry.
9	9	3 Whereas, Indiana's aluminum recycling industry and related
10	10	4 ecosystem (hereafter "aluminum recycling industry") is
11	11	5 recognized for its continued legacy of innovation in providing
12	12	6 sustainable secondary aluminum that enhances the domestic
13	13	7 supply of a critical material and meets growing demand from
14	14	8 domestic customers in the automotive, beverage packaging, and
15	15	9 consumer and industrial foil industries;
16	16	10 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry strengthens the
17	17	11 domestic supply of aluminum, a critical material rich in critical
18	18	12 minerals, e.g., silicon, manganese, magnesium, and thus
19	19	13 reduces the United States' reliance on aluminum imported from
20	20	14 unreliable foreign markets;

23	23	1 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry helps enhance
24	24	2 the economic security of the United States by bolstering the
25	25	3 domestic supply of aluminum;
26	26	4 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry works to divert
27	27	5 infinitely recyclable aluminum scrap from landfills and ensure
28	28	6 its productive economic reuse;
29	29	7 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry conserves and
30	30	8 produces secondary aluminum used extensively throughout the
31	31	9 domestic economy;
32	32	10 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry helps support
33	33	11 thousands of good, high-paying Hoosier jobs;
34	34	12 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry relies on the
35	35	13 technical skills and dedication of Hoosier workers to collect,
36	36	14 recycle, and reuse aluminum scrap;
37	37	15 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry deploys creative,
38	38	16 market-oriented approaches to ensure pre-market and
39	39	17 post-market scrap is collected, recycled, and reused;
40	40	18 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry continues to
41	41	19 research and develop innovative technologies to improve the
42	42	20 collection, sortation, and recycling of all types of aluminum
43	43	21 scrap;
44	44	22 Whereas, The aluminum recycling process is a relatively
45	45	23 energy efficient process resulting in fewer carbon emissions
46	46	24 than other material processes;
47	47	25 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry is a purchaser of
48	48	26 primary aluminum, including from domestic sources;
49	49	27 Whereas, The aluminum recycling process will continue to
50	50	28 rely on primary aluminum;
51	51	29 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry is critical to the
52	52	30 economic vitality and growth of Indiana and the United States;

56	56	1 Whereas, The aluminum recycling industry supports local,
57	57	2 state, and federal public policies that recognize and promote
58	58	3 the value of secondary aluminum: Therefore,
59	59	4 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
60	60	5 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
61	61	6 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
62	62	7 honors Indiana's aluminum recycling industry, including the
63	63	8 hardworking Hoosiers employed by it, as well as for its
64	64	9 continued legacy of innovation in conserving existing
65	65	10 aluminum, reducing reliance on foreign countries for
66	66	11 aluminum, and providing secondary aluminum that is
67	67	12 sustainable and offers high-quality, lightweight, durable, and
68	68	13 adaptive aluminum for use in many industries across Indiana
69	69	14 and the United States.
70	70	15 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
71	71	16 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
72	72	17 Representative Tonya Pfaff for distribution.
