SENATE BILL No. 34 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning professions and occupations. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: 1 SECTION 1. IC 25-1-6-11 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE 2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE 3 UPON PASSAGE]: Sec. 11. (a) The licensing agency shall: 4 (1) study occupational licensing laws enacted in other states 5 and evaluate the effectiveness and ease of administration of 6 those laws; and 7 (2) contact representatives of each of the occupations 8 regulated by the licensing agency for recommendations 9 regarding: 10 (A) how to remove barriers for worker mobility from one 11 state to another state; and 12 (B) whether universal licensing recognition would be 13 beneficial for professionals in the occupation. 14 (b) Not later than October 31, 2024, the licensing agency shall: 15 (1) prepare a report with findings and recommendations 16 based on the licensing agency's study and evaluation under 17 subsection (a); and 2024 IN 34—LS 6035/DI 141 2 1 (2) submit the report to the general assembly in an electronic 2 format under IC 5-14-6. 3 (c) This section expires July 1, 2025. 4 SECTION 2.
