Summary of Legislation: (Amended) The bill requires county council review and approval of the Lake
County convention and visitor bureau annual budget, if the county council adopts an ordinance to increase
the innkeeper's tax rate.
Effective Date: (Amended) Upon passage.

Explanation of Local Expenditures: (Revised) The bill will increase the workload of the county council
by potentially requiring additional meetings and/or additional time at scheduled meetings to review and
approve the budget prepared by the Lake County convention and visitor bureau if the county fiscal body
adopts an ordinance to increase the innkeeper's tax rate.
The bill’s requirements are within the agency’s routine administrative functions and should be able to be
implemented with no additional appropriations, assuming near customary agency staffing and resource levels.
