Summary of Legislation: This bill requires the Department of Education, in consultation with the Office
of the Secretary of Family and Social Services, to approve and make available student mental health
resources for certain schools. The bill requires the governing body of a school corporation or the equivalent
authority for a charter school to publish and publicly post the approved student mental health resources.
Effective Date:  Upon passage.
Explanation of State Expenditures: The bill requires the Department of Education, in consultation with
the Family and Social Services Administration, to approve certain mental health resources. These resources
will be made available to public schools. The bill’s requirements are within the agencies’ routine
administrative functions and should be able to be implemented with no additional appropriations, assuming
near customary agency staffing and resource levels. 
Explanation of State Revenues: 
Explanation of Local Expenditures: Provisions in the bill require public schools to publish certain mental
health resources on the schools’ websites and social media platforms. A hard copy of the resources are also
required to be published in a location that is visible and accessible to all students. These requirements will
increase the workload for public schools, but should be implemented with no additional appropriations.
