2020 5 Whereas, On February 24, 2024, the Lawrence Central
2121 6 High School girls basketball team capped off their season at
2222 7 Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning
2323 8 their first IHSAA Class 4A state championship title in school

2525 10 Whereas, The Lawrence Central girls basketball team
2626 11 consists of Laila Abdurraqib, Katie Castro, Mariah Kenter
2727 12 Garrett, Alexandria Harrington, Jessica Heavener, Melaya
2828 13 Hughes, Jaylah Lampley, Lola Lampley, Aniyah McKenzie,
2929 14 Janiyah Russell, and Daneijah Wynn;

3131 16 Whereas, The Lawrence Central girls basketball team is
3232 17 supported by Head Coach Jannon Lampley, Assistant Coaches
3333 18 Holly Coulter, Terrence Johnson, and Bryce Stone, and

3535 20 Whereas, The Lawrence Central Bears, ranked first overall
3636 21 in Class 4A, advanced to the state championship game against

3838 23 daunting 29-1 record after defeating the Center Grove Trojans
3939 24 in the semi-state game;
4040 25 Whereas, Lawrence Central took control of the game in the

4343 1 Lampley leading the Bears in scoring with 19 points;
4444 2 Whereas, The Lawrence Central Bears won the state
4545 3 championship game against Lake Central High School with a

4949 7 Whereas, The Lawrence Central Bears completed their
5050 8 2023-2024 season with an overall record of 30-1, becoming the

5353 11 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly

5656 14 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
5757 15 congratulates the Lawrence Central High School girls
5858 16 basketball team on winning the 2024 Indiana High School
5959 17 Athletic Association ("IHSAA") Class 4A state championship
