| 14 | 14 | | 2 heroes in Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month. |

| 15 | 15 | | 3 Whereas, Firefighters have a 9% higher risk of being |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 4 diagnosed with cancer than the general American population; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 5 Whereas, Pike Township Fire Department and Trustee |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 6 Annette Johnson have made strides toward firefighter safety by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 7 piloting a project for a new and innovative decontamination |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 8 and maintenance facility; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 9 Whereas, This new facility is designed to provide efficient, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 10 effective gear cleaning that will reduce long-term exposure to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 11 carcinogens; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 12 Whereas, The International Association of Fire Fighters |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 13 (IAFF) has established an online accessible guide, sharing |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 14 information for prevention and care by capturing the stories of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 15 fallen heroes, survivors, and current fighters; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 16 Whereas, 50 years ago, the IAFF dedicated the month of |

| 29 | 29 | | 17 January to Firefighter Cancer Awareness and has provided our |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 18 heroes with lifesaving tools and guidance to develop protocols |
