| 15 | 15 | | 3 Whereas, The National Conference of State Legislatures |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 4 (NCSL) was founded on January 1, 1975, from the merger of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 5 three organizations that served or represented state legislatures |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 6 and shared the belief that legislative service is one of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 7 democracy's worthiest pursuits; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 8 Whereas, NCSL is a bipartisan organization that has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 9 evolved during the past half century to become the premier |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 10 organization solely dedicated to serving state and territorial |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 11 legislators and legislative staff; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 12 Whereas, NCSL seeks to advance the effectiveness, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 13 independence, and integrity of state legislatures, foster |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 14 interstate communication and cooperation, and ensure a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 15 strong, cohesive voice in the federal system; |

| 28 | 28 | | 16 Whereas, Our nation's state legislatures are America's |

| 29 | 29 | | 17 laboratories of democracy, best suited to tackle emerging |

| 38 | 38 | | 6 Whereas, On January 1, 2025, NCSL will celebrate 50 |

| 41 | 41 | | 9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana: |

| 42 | 42 | | 10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the 50th |

| 43 | 43 | | 11 anniversary of the National Conference of State Legislatures |

| 44 | 44 | | 12 and honors their superb leadership and commitment to the |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | 13 legislative institution. |

| 46 | 46 | | 14 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed |

| 47 | 47 | | 15 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the National Conference |
