17 | 17 | | 4 Whereas, The National 4-H program serves youth in rural, |
---|
18 | 18 | | 5 urban, and suburban communities throughout every state |
---|
19 | 19 | | 6 across the nation; |
---|
20 | 20 | | 7 Whereas, From its origins in Hamilton County in 1904, |
---|
21 | 21 | | 8 Indiana's 4-H program has expanded to all 92 counties and is |
---|
22 | 22 | | 9 delivered through Purdue Extension, which offers educational |
---|
23 | 23 | | 10 programing in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, |
---|
24 | 24 | | 11 healthy living, and civic engagement; |
---|
25 | 25 | | 12 Whereas, The Indiana 4-H Youth Development mission is |
---|
26 | 26 | | 13 to provide real-life educational opportunities that develop |
---|
27 | 27 | | 14 young people who will have a positive impact in their |
---|
28 | 28 | | 15 communities and the world, and it strives to be the premier |
---|
29 | 29 | | 16 community-based program empowering young people to reach |

30 | 30 | | 17 their full potential; |

31 | 31 | | 18 Whereas, Community clubs, after-school programs, school |

32 | 32 | | 19 enrichment, camps, and workshops give youth across Indiana |

39 | 39 | | 6 Whereas, Indiana 4-H Day at the Statehouse will take place |

40 | 40 | | 7 this year on February 13 and will provide Hoosier 4-H |

41 | 41 | | 8 members an opportunity to spend a day at the Statehouse |

42 | 42 | | 9 serving as pages, meeting members of the General Assembly, |

44 | 44 | | 11 Whereas, It is proper to honor Indiana 4-H on the occasion |
