1212 MADAM PRESIDENT:
1313 I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1414 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Indiana 4-H and
1515 2 recognizing February 13, 2024, as Indiana 4-H Day at the
1616 3 Statehouse.
1717 4 Whereas, The National 4-H program serves youth in rural,
1818 5 urban, and suburban communities throughout every state
1919 6 across the nation;
2020 7 Whereas, From its origins in Hamilton County in 1904,
2121 8 Indiana's 4-H program has expanded to all 92 counties and is
2222 9 delivered through Purdue Extension, which offers educational
2323 10 programing in science, technology, engineering, mathematics,
2424 11 healthy living, and civic engagement;
2525 12 Whereas, The Indiana 4-H Youth Development mission is
2626 13 to provide real-life educational opportunities that develop
2727 14 young people who will have a positive impact in their
2828 15 communities and the world, and it strives to be the premier
2929 16 community-based program empowering young people to reach
3030 17 their full potential;
3131 18 Whereas, Community clubs, after-school programs, school
3232 19 enrichment, camps, and workshops give youth across Indiana

3434 1 an opportunity to be involved with the 4-H program;
3535 2 Whereas, Members of Indiana 4-H cultivate life skills,
3636 3 including confidence, independence, resilience, and
3737 4 compassion, and are empowered with skills needed to lead for
3838 5 a lifetime;
3939 6 Whereas, Indiana 4-H Day at the Statehouse will take place
4040 7 this year on February 13 and will provide Hoosier 4-H
4141 8 members an opportunity to spend a day at the Statehouse
4242 9 serving as pages, meeting members of the General Assembly,
4343 10 and learning more about the legislative process; and
4444 11 Whereas, It is proper to honor Indiana 4-H on the occasion
4545 12 of 4-H Day at the Statehouse and to congratulate the
4646 13 organization for preparing young Hoosiers to be productive
4747 14 citizens and world-class leaders of tomorrow: Therefore,
4848 15 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
4949 16 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
5050 17 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Indiana 4-H
5151 18 and recognizes February 13, 2024, as Indiana 4-H Day at the
5252 19 Statehouse.
5353 20 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
5454 21 to transmit copies of this Resolution to all Indiana 4-H
5555 22 ambassadors (Travis Barnhart of Marshall County, Shelby
5656 23 Davis of Jennings County, Audrey Fisher of Posey County,
5757 24 Noah Miller of Lake County, Kylee Reeves of Montgomery
5858 25 County, Isabel Sayre of Benton County, and Emma Wooley of
5959 26 Union County), the Indiana representatives of the 102nd
6060 27 National 4-H Congress (Lora Commens of Posey County,
6161 28 Kaylyn Zeigler of Cass County, Danessa Hoffman of LaGrange
