12	12	MADAM PRESIDENT:
13	13	I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
14	14	1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring BWX Technologies,
15	15	2 Inc. ("BWXT") on the 60th anniversary of its manufacturing
16	16	3 facility in Mount Vernon, Indiana.
17	17	4 Whereas, BWXT was originally founded as Babcock,
18	18	5 Wilcox & Company in 1867 and quickly became a leader in the
19	19	6 emerging energy industry, providing boilers for the first central
20	20	7 electrical station in the United States, New York City's first
21	21	8 subway, and President Theodore Roosevelt's Great White Fleet,
22	22	9 as well as providing design and components for the Hoover
23	23	10 Dam, the Manhattan Project, and the world's first nuclear-
24	24	11 powered submarine, the U.S.S. Nautilus;
25	25	12 Whereas, In 1962, BWXT, through its Nuclear Operations
26	26	13 Group, began developing the Mount Vernon site, which is
27	27	14 strategically located on the Ohio River and has been pivotal in
28	28	15 the economical shipment of heavy metal products globally and
29	29	16 represents a critical component of the United States' defense
30	30	17 manufacturing capabilities;
31	31	18 Whereas, BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group is renowned
32	32	19 for its production of vital components for naval nuclear
33	33	20 reactors used in submarines and aircraft carriers, such as

35	35	1 pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pressurizers, and steam
36	36	2 generators, under stringent quality programs;
37	37	3 Whereas, BWXT's Mount Vernon facility has demonstrated
38	38	4 a commitment to innovation and efficiency, with its 600,000
39	39	5 square feet of shop area, state of the art machine tools,
40	40	6 advanced manufacturing systems, and dedicated and skilled
41	41	7 workforce supporting exceptional engineering and
42	42	8 manufacturing capabilities;
43	43	9 Whereas, The facility's impact on the community includes
44	44	10 an $80 million investment in building improvements and new
45	45	11 machinery, the creation of 340 high-wage job opportunities,
46	46	12 and a long history of supporting local charities and civic
47	47	13 organizations, all demonstrating BWXT's confidence in
48	48	14 Indiana, its business environment, and its people; and
49	49	15 Whereas, BWXT's Mount Vernon facility celebrates 60
50	50	16 years of excellence in 2024: Therefore,
51	51	17 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
52	52	18 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
53	53	19 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate commends the
54	54	20 BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc., facility in Mount
55	55	21 Vernon, Indiana, on 60 years of outstanding service and
56	56	22 applauds its workforce for their skill, dedication, and
57	57	23 contributions in support of the local community, the State of
58	58	24 Indiana, and our national defense.
59	59	25 SECTION 2. That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
60	60	26 directed to distribute a copy of this Resolution to the Board of
61	61	27 Directors of BWX Technologies, Inc.
