SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Senator John Crane
2 upon his retirement from the Indiana Senate.
3 Whereas, Senator John Crane has faithfully and honorably
4 served the constituents of District 24, encompassing parts of
5 Putnam and Hendricks Counties, since being elected in 2016;
6 Whereas, Senator Crane has served as the Assistant
7 Chairman for Operations of the Senate Majority Caucus, the
8 ranking member of the Committee on Education and Career
9 Development, as well as a member of various other committees,
10 including Elections, Family and Children Services, Homeland
11 Security and Transportation, Pensions and Labor, and
12 Veterans Affairs and The Military;
13 Whereas, Senator Crane has been an avowed supporter of
14 limited government, authoring a small number of bills while
15 focusing his efforts on supporting legislation to ensure a quality
16 education, protect Second Amendment rights, and empower
17 local government;
18 Whereas, Growing up in rural Indiana, Senator Crane was
19 raised in a family that instilled in him the values of faith, hard

1 work, and public service and he lives out those values through
2 his membership at Connection Pointe Christian Church, his
3 speaking engagements around the world, and his work through
4 the Sagamore Leadership Initiative, which he founded in 2009
5 to equip the next generation of leaders to influence our culture
6 for the good; and
7 Whereas, Senator Crane is a deeply valued member of the
8 Indiana Senate and his dedication and leadership will be
9 greatly missed: Therefore,
10 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
11 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
12 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Senator John
13 Crane upon his retirement and thanks him for his faithful
14 service to the Indiana Senate and the people of Senate District
15 24.
16 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
17 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator John Crane and
18 his family.
