1212 MADAM PRESIDENT:
1313 I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1414 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION to recognize the Concerned
1515 2 Clergy of Indianapolis for their constant advocacy on behalf of
1616 3 the most vulnerable.
1717 4 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis is a
1818 5 fellowship of pastors and other concerned citizens who are
1919 6 God-fearing people who believe injustice, racism, ageism,
2020 7 classism, and sexism to be contrary to the will of God;
2121 8 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis are
2222 9 activists who work to develop ways to eliminate injustices that
2323 10 are inflicted upon people by economic, political, legal, and
2424 11 educational systems;
2525 12 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis has been
2626 13 at the forefront advocating for early childhood education,
2727 14 public schools, affordable housing, criminal justice reform,
2828 15 mental health, and stopping the school to prison pipeline;
2929 16 Whereas, The actions of Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis
3030 17 have helped keep grocery stores and jobs in the community and
3131 18 supported equality of opportunity for local employment;

3333 1 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis
3434 2 implemented educational programs that resulted in a
3535 3 significant increase in voter participation in Indianapolis; and
3636 4 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis are
3737 5 committed to their purpose to be God's active and vocal
3838 6 instrument in calling on these systems to pursue justice and the
3939 7 welfare of all citizens: Therefore,
4040 8 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
4141 9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
4242 10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the
4343 11 Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis for their constant advocacy
4444 12 on behalf of the most vulnerable.
4545 13 SECTION 2. That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
4646 14 directed to transmit three copies of this Resolution to the
4747 15 Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis.
