SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION to recognize the Concerned
2 Clergy of Indianapolis for their constant advocacy on behalf of
3 the most vulnerable.
4 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis is a
5 fellowship of pastors and other concerned citizens who are
6 God-fearing people who believe injustice, racism, ageism,
7 classism, and sexism to be contrary to the will of God;
8 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis are
9 activists who work to develop ways to eliminate injustices that
10 are inflicted upon people by economic, political, legal, and
11 educational systems;
12 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis has been
13 at the forefront advocating for early childhood education,
14 public schools, affordable housing, criminal justice reform,
15 mental health, and stopping the school to prison pipeline;
16 Whereas, The actions of Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis
17 have helped keep grocery stores and jobs in the community and
18 supported equality of opportunity for local employment;

1 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis
2 implemented educational programs that resulted in a
3 significant increase in voter participation in Indianapolis; and
4 Whereas, The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis are
5 committed to their purpose to be God's active and vocal
6 instrument in calling on these systems to pursue justice and the
7 welfare of all citizens: Therefore,
8 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the
11 Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis for their constant advocacy
12 on behalf of the most vulnerable.
13 SECTION 2. That the Secretary of the Senate is hereby
14 directed to transmit three copies of this Resolution to the
15 Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis.
