1313 MADAM PRESIDENT:
1414 I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1515 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Martinsville
1616 2 Tabernacle Christian School girls basketball team on winning
1717 3 the 2024 Indiana Association of Christian Schools ("IACS")
1818 4 state championship title.
1919 5 Whereas, The Martinsville Tabernacle Christian School
2020 6 girls basketball team capped off their season at Crosspointe
2121 7 Christian Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning their
2222 8 sixth consecutive IACS state championship title;
2323 9 Whereas, The Martinsville Tabernacle Eagles advanced to
2424 10 the state championship against Colonial Christian School after
2525 11 overpowering Community Baptist Christian School 61-22 in the
2626 12 semifinal game, where Senior Annie Sichting scored 29 points
2727 13 during the semifinal game, the last of which was her 2000th
2828 14 point in her varsity career;
2929 15 Whereas, During the championship game, seniors Mariah
3030 16 McClure, Marianna Natareno, and Madeline Walker and junior
3131 17 Hallie Brummett contributed to the suffocating defense that
3232 18 held Colonial Christian School's leading scorer to only 8
3333 19 points;

3535 1 Whereas, The Martinsville Tabernacle Eagles, the #1
3636 2 seeded team in the tournament, defeated Colonial Christian
3737 3 School 48-35, lead to victory by top scorers Senior Annie
3838 4 Sichting and Freshman Liz Southerland; and
3939 5 Whereas, The Martinsville Tabernacle Eagles completed
4040 6 their 2023-2024 season with an impressive overall record of
4141 7 19-4: Therefore,
4242 8 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
4343 9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
4444 10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the
4545 11 Martinsville Tabernacle Christian School girls basketball team
4646 12 on winning the 2024 Indiana Association of Christian Schools
4747 13 ("IACS") state championship title.
4848 14 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
4949 15 to transmit copies of this Resolution to each member of the
5050 16 Martinsville Tabernacle Christian School girls basketball team.
