SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring David Carlow for 50
2 years of service to the City of Madison.
3 Whereas, David Carlow was born in 1956 to Paul and
4 Margaret Carlow and graduated from Madison Consolidated
5 High School in 1975;
6 Whereas, Even before his high school graduation, David
7 Carlow served his community, starting as a volunteer
8 firefighter for Western Fire Company No. 3 in December of
9 1974;
10 Whereas, Over his 50 years of volunteer service, David has
11 earned various certifications from the Indiana Board of
12 Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education, including
13 Fire Officer II, Haz-Mat Technician, and Master Firefighter -
14 Strategy and Tactics;
15 Whereas, In addition to five decades as a volunteer
16 firefighter, David has served the City of Madison as Assistant
17 City Fire Chief, City Council President, and member of the
18 Board of Public Works and Safety; and

1 Whereas, David's lifetime of community service stands as
2 an example of sustained selflessness and a catalyst for broader
3 altruism: Therefore,
4 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
5 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
6 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors David Carlow
7 for 50 years of service to the City of Madison.
8 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
9 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to David Carlow.
