27	27	A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
28	28	human services and to make an appropriation.
29	29	Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
30	30	1 SECTION 1. IC 12-8-1.5-21 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
31	31	2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
32	32	3 1, 2025]: Sec. 21. (a) As used in this section, "qualified individual"
33	33	4 means an individual whose child or dependent received structured
34	34	5 family caregiving services for at least three (3) months during the
35	35	6 2024 calendar year through the structured family caregiving
36	36	7 program administered by the office of the secretary under:
37	37	8 (1) a Medicaid health and wellness waiver;
38	38	9 (2) a Medicaid home and community based services waiver;
39	39	10 (3) a Medicaid traumatic brain injury waiver; or
40	40	11 (4) another program administered by the office of the
41	41	12 secretary;
42	42	13 regardless of whether the services were provided in consecutive
43	43	14 months.
44	44	15 (b) Not later than September 1, 2025, the office of the secretary
45	45	16 shall distribute an amount equal to:
46	46	17 (1) six thousand dollars ($6,000); multiplied by

48	48	1 (2) the number of the qualified individual's children and
49	49	2 dependents who received structured family caregiving
50	50	3 services for at least three (3) months during the 2024 calendar
51	51	4 year.
52	52	5 (c) There is appropriated from the state general fund to the
53	53	6 office of the secretary for the state fiscal year beginning July 1,
54	54	7 2025, and ending June 30, 2026, an amount sufficient to make the
55	55	8 distributions required under this section.
56	56	9 (d) This section expires July 1, 2026.
