2828 A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
2929 health.
3030 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3131 1 SECTION 1. IC 16-20-1-31.4 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
3232 2 CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
3333 3 [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2025]: Sec. 31.4. (a) A local health
3434 4 department shall provide a water quality test kit to an individual
3535 5 who:
3636 6 (1) resides within the jurisdiction of the local health
3737 7 department; and
3838 8 (2) submits a request form prescribed by the local health
3939 9 department.
4040 10 (b) A local health department shall issue a water quality test kit
4141 11 to an individual who meets the requirements under this section not
4242 12 later than ten (10) days after the request is submitted to the local
4343 13 health department and at no cost to the individual.
4444 14 (c) A water quality test kit provided under this section must
4545 15 have the capacity to detect arsenic, fluoride, lead, mercury, and
4646 16 nitrate.
4747 17 (d) An individual may be provided a maximum of three (3)
