30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: |

31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. IC 16-20-1-31.4 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA |

32 | 32 | | 2 CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS |

33 | 33 | | 3 [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2025]: Sec. 31.4. (a) A local health |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4 department shall provide a water quality test kit to an individual |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5 who: |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6 (1) resides within the jurisdiction of the local health |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7 department; and |
---|
38 | 38 | | 8 (2) submits a request form prescribed by the local health |
---|
39 | 39 | | 9 department. |
---|
40 | 40 | | 10 (b) A local health department shall issue a water quality test kit |
---|
41 | 41 | | 11 to an individual who meets the requirements under this section not |
---|
42 | 42 | | 12 later than ten (10) days after the request is submitted to the local |
---|
43 | 43 | | 13 health department and at no cost to the individual. |

44 | 44 | | 14 (c) A water quality test kit provided under this section must |
---|
45 | 45 | | 15 have the capacity to detect arsenic, fluoride, lead, mercury, and |
---|
46 | 46 | | 16 nitrate. |
