2121 3 Whereas, The Professional Fire Fighters Union of Indiana
2222 4 (PFFUI) was chartered on January 4, 1935, by the

2525 1 International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), officially
2626 2 forming the state association;
2727 3 Whereas, The PFFUI has continued its steadfast commitment
2828 4 to the mission of advocating for the professional interests of
2929 5 9,000 members across 96 affiliate locals statewide;
3030 6 Whereas, The PFFUI has been a steadfast leader in ensuring
3131 7 that Indiana's career fire fighters, paramedics, and 911
3232 8 telecommunicators are appropriately equipped, trained, and
3333 9 supported to respond to the emergencies of the citizens of
3434 10 Indiana;
3535 11 Whereas, The PFFUI has been a leader in advocating for
3636 12 legislation that enhances fire fighter health, safety, and
3737 13 wellness;
3838 14 Whereas, Throughout its 90 years, the PFFUI has been
3939 15 instrumental in shaping public policy, advancing fire fighter
4040 16 safety standards, and building strong partnerships with fire
4141 17 departments, communities, and government officials to improve
4242 18 fire and emergency response services across the state of
4343 19 Indiana;
4444 20 Whereas, The PFFUI's commitment to professionalism,
4545 21 service, and unity has earned the respect and admiration of its
4646 22 members, leaders, and the citizens of Indiana, making it a
4747 23 cornerstone of public safety advocacy in the state; and
4848 24 Whereas, As the PFFUI celebrates this remarkable
4949 25 milestone, it continues to build on this proud legacy, ensuring
5050 26 that future generations of fire fighters are supported, protected,
5151 27 and equipped to meet the challenges of the communities they
5252 28 serve: Therefore,
5353 29 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
5454 30 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
5555 31 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
5656 32 acknowledges the many contributions and accomplishments of
5757 33 the Professional Fire Fighters Union of Indiana throughout the
5858 34 state of Indiana.
