1515 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the
1616 2 National FFA Organization and the Indiana FFA Association
1717 3 for exemplary work in the advancement of agricultural
1818 4 education in Indiana and across the country.
1919 5 Whereas, The National FFA Organization, established in
2020 6 1928, and the Indiana FFA Association, established in 1929,
2121 7 were created to prepare future generations for the challenges
2222 8 of feeding a growing population;
2323 9 Whereas, The National FFA Organization, which
2424 10 encompasses all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin
2525 11 Islands, represents more than one million members in 9,235
2626 12 chapters, while the Indiana FFA membership has grown to over
2727 13 14,000 members and 230 chapters;
2828 14 Whereas, Both organizations have become dynamic youth
2929 15 organizations with a mission to change lives and prepare
3030 16 members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career
3131 17 success through agricultural education;
3232 18 Whereas, FFA accomplishes this mission by developing
3333 19 agricultural leaders, increasing awareness of the importance
3434 20 of agriculture, strengthening the confidence of students
3535 21 involved, promoting the choice of agriculture as a career,
3636 22 encouraging agricultural experience programs, highlighting
3737 23 wise management of community resources, developing
3838 24 members' interpersonal skills and character, promoting

4040 1 cooperation and healthy lifestyles, and encouraging excellence
4141 2 in scholarship;
4242 3 Whereas, The members of FFA, by living the motto
4343 4 "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to
4444 5 Serve," are able to put the leadership skills they develop into
4545 6 action and are empowered to make a positive impact in their
4646 7 communities; and
4747 8 Whereas, FFA Week started in 1947 as an opportunity for
4848 9 members, alumni, and sponsors to celebrate and advocate for
4949 10 agricultural education and will be celebrated this year from
5050 11 February 15-22: Therefore,
5151 12 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
5252 13 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
5353 14 concurring:
5454 15 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
5555 16 recognizes the National FFA Organization and the Indiana FFA
5656 17 Association for exemplary work in the advancement of
5757 18 agricultural education in Indiana and across the country.
5858 19 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
5959 20 to transmit copies of the Resolution to Indiana FFA state
6060 21 officers: Ethan Wolheter, President; Christina Caldwell,
6161 22 Secretary; Stephanie Berenda, Northern Region Vice President;
6262 23 Cale Williams, Southern Region Vice President; Sienna
6363 24 Alexander, Reporter; Kyatalin Baker, Treasurer; and Garrett
6464 25 Bolin, Sentinel.
