LEISING , read first time and referred to Committee on 2025 RC 1515/DI BE Introduced First Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2025) SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. _____ 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the 2 National FFA Organization and the Indiana FFA Association 3 for exemplary work in the advancement of agricultural 4 education in Indiana and across the country. 5 Whereas, The National FFA Organization, established in 6 1928, and the Indiana FFA Association, established in 1929, 7 were created to prepare future generations for the challenges 8 of feeding a growing population; 9 Whereas, The National FFA Organization, which 10 encompasses all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin 11 Islands, represents more than one million members in 9,235 12 chapters, while the Indiana FFA membership has grown to over 13 14,000 members and 230 chapters; 14 Whereas, Both organizations have become dynamic youth 15 organizations with a mission to change lives and prepare 16 members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career 17 success through agricultural education; 18 Whereas, FFA accomplishes this mission by developing 19 agricultural leaders, increasing awareness of the importance 20 of agriculture, strengthening the confidence of students 21 involved, promoting the choice of agriculture as a career, 22 encouraging agricultural experience programs, highlighting 23 wise management of community resources, developing 24 members' interpersonal skills and character, promoting 2025 RC 1515/DI BE 2 1 cooperation and healthy lifestyles, and encouraging excellence 2 in scholarship; 3 Whereas, The members of FFA, by living the motto 4 "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to 5 Serve," are able to put the leadership skills they develop into 6 action and are empowered to make a positive impact in their 7 communities; and 8 Whereas, FFA Week started in 1947 as an opportunity for 9 members, alumni, and sponsors to celebrate and advocate for 10 agricultural education and will be celebrated this year from 11 February 15-22: Therefore, 12 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly 13 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives 14 concurring: 15 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly 16 recognizes the National FFA Organization and the Indiana FFA 17 Association for exemplary work in the advancement of 18 agricultural education in Indiana and across the country. 19 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed 20 to transmit copies of the Resolution to Indiana FFA state 21 officers: Ethan Wolheter, President; Christina Caldwell, 22 Secretary; Stephanie Berenda, Northern Region Vice President; 23 Cale Williams, Southern Region Vice President; Sienna 24 Alexander, Reporter; Kyatalin Baker, Treasurer; and Garrett 25 Bolin, Sentinel. 2025 RC 1515/DI BE
