1515 2 Brownsburg High School football team on winning the 2024
1616 3 Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 6A

1818 5 Whereas, On November 29, 2024, the Brownsburg High
1919 6 School football team finalized their season at Lucas Oil
2020 7 Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning their third
2121 8 football state championship title in school history and first title
2222 9 since 1985;
2323 10 Whereas, With a season record of 12-1, the Brownsburg
2424 11 Bulldogs, ranked first overall in Class 6A, advanced to the state
2525 12 championship game against Westfield High School after
2626 13 multiple thrilling match-ups, including a 28-point second half
2727 14 comeback against Ben Davis in their sectional match-up, a
2828 15 two-point conversion with 13 seconds left to win 22-21 at their
2929 16 regional game against Lawrence North, and an interception in
3030 17 the final seconds to beat Center Grove 31-27 at Semi-State;
3131 18 Whereas, After Westfield led for the first half of the
3232 19 championship game, the Bulldogs rallied to tie the game 10-10
3333 20 in the third quarter following a 71-yard touchdown on a screen
3434 21 pass from Oscar Frye to Kovon Sumpter-Bey on third-and-19;
3535 22 Whereas, The Bulldogs' momentum only ramped up during
3636 23 the fourth quarter, when in a span of 54 seconds, they took a
3737 24 22-10 lead when senior quarterback Iosua Stephens found
3838 25 sophomore Branden Sharpe for a 20-yard touchdown on
3939 26 fourth-and-three, followed closely by a blocked punt by Jamere

4242 2 Whereas, With six seconds remaining in the fourth quarter
4343 3 and Westfield on the Bulldogs' 31-yard line, junior Drew Bostic

4646 6 Whereas, Through grit and determination, the Brownsburg

4949 9 Whereas, Following the game, senior quarterback Iosua

5252 12 Whereas, Under the leadership of Head Coach John Hart,
5353 13 the Bulldogs finished their 2024 season with a final record of

5656 16 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly

5959 19 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
6060 20 congratulates the Brownsburg High School football team on
6161 21 winning the 2024 IHSAA 6A state championship.
6262 22 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
6363 23 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Head Coach John Hart,
6464 24 Assistant Coaches Derek Hart and JT Whitaker, Statistician
6565 25 Thomas Robbins, and each member of the Brownsburg High
