15 | 15 | | 3 Whereas, Founded in 1925, the Indiana Podiatric Medical |

16 | 16 | | 4 Association (IPMA) was organized for the purpose of |

17 | 17 | | 5 improving the standards of the podiatric medical profession, |

18 | 18 | | 6 cultivating the various arts and sciences of podiatric medicine, |

19 | 19 | | 7 and encouraging continued education of practicing podiatrists; |

20 | 20 | | 8 Whereas, The IPMA has been and continues to be a |
---|
21 | 21 | | 9 cornerstone in the advancement and support of the podiatric |
---|
22 | 22 | | 10 profession by providing important resources for podiatrists, |
---|
23 | 23 | | 11 advocating on behalf of the best interests of podiatrists, and |
---|
24 | 24 | | 12 promoting the public's health across the State of Indiana; |

25 | 25 | | 13 Whereas, The IPMA has over 200 members currently, |
---|
26 | 26 | | 14 whose skills are in increasing demand in part because foot |
---|
27 | 27 | | 15 disorders are among the most widespread and neglected health |
---|
28 | 28 | | 16 problems affecting people across the country; |
---|
29 | 29 | | 17 Whereas, It is estimated that more than seventy-five percent |
---|
30 | 30 | | 18 of Americans will experience foot problems of varying degrees |
---|
31 | 31 | | 19 of seriousness at some point in their lives; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | 20 Whereas, For the past 100 years, Indiana's podiatrists have |
---|
33 | 33 | | 21 provided a professional solution to these problems and have |
---|
34 | 34 | | 22 improved the health and quality of life for the citizens of |

35 | 35 | | 23 Indiana: Therefore, |
