| 18 | 18 | | 5 that provides emergency medical care to Hoosiers more than |

| 20 | 20 | | 7 Whereas, EMS is the front line of the health care system |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 8 and proudly stands at the intersection of health care, public |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 9 health, and public safety; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 10 Whereas, EMS providers are altruistic at heart and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 11 recognize the risk involved in the line of duty; |

| 25 | 25 | | 12 Whereas, In the past five years, twenty Indiana first |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 13 responders have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, |

| 27 | 27 | | 14 each receiving the EMS Star of Life designation as a result; and |

| 28 | 28 | | 15 Whereas, The EMS Star of Life designees in the past five |
