15	15	1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the 50th
16	16	2 anniversary of Columbus Youth Hockey, Inc. (CYH) and
17	17	3 congratulating the Columbus Icemen (Icemen) on winning the
18	18	4 2025 Indiana State High School Hockey Association (ISHSHA)
19	19	5 Class 2A state championship.
20	20	6 Whereas, Beginning its journey as a non-profit
21	21	7 organization in 1974, CYH celebrated its 50th anniversary in
22	22	8 2024;
23	23	9 Whereas, Today, nearly 150 youth participate in the sport
24	24	10 of ice hockey in CYH, coming from Columbus and the
25	25	11 surrounding communities to develop athleticism and
26	26	12 friendships while growing as teammates;
27	27	13 Whereas, The CYH program fields seven travel teams of
28	28	14 players between the ages of five and fifteen competing as the
29	29	15 Columbus Flames who have achieved their own success
30	30	16 through victories, while the Icemen represent CYH in the
31	31	17 ISHSHA;
32	32	18 Whereas, In the 2025 state tournament, the Icemen defeated
33	33	19 Lake Central Blue by a score of 7-1, and then, through smart
34	34	20 offense, aggressive defense, and skillful play in the net by the
35	35	21 goalie, shut out Bloomington by a score of 4-0 and Westfield by
36	36	22 a score of 5-0; and
37	37	23 Whereas, The Icemen captured the ISHSHA Class 2A
38	38	24 championship by defeating the Adams Eagles by a score of 4-2,
39	39	25 marking the seventh state championship for the Icemen, their

41	41	1 second championship in the last five years, and their third
42	42	2 appearance in the state championship in the last five seasons:
43	43	3 Therefore,
44	44	4 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
45	45	5 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
46	46	6 concurring:
47	47	7 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
48	48	8 recognizes the 50th Anniversary of Columbus Youth Hockey,
49	49	9 Inc. and thanks the organization for successfully enhancing the
50	50	10 lives of youth in the community by developing athletes into
51	51	11 skilled ice hockey players in a fun, challenging atmosphere
52	52	12 while demonstrating sportsmanship and teamwork.
53	53	13 SECTION 2. That the Indiana General Assembly
54	54	14 congratulates the Columbus Icemen for winning the 2025
55	55	15 Indiana State High School Hockey Association Class 2A state
56	56	16 championship.
57	57	17 SECTION 3. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
58	58	18 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Head Coach Troy
59	59	19 Tyner; assistant coaches Geoff Hannen, Dave Weed, Noah
60	60	20 Carlock, Aaron Jones, and Walter Copas; and each member of
61	61	21 the Columbus Icemen hockey team.
