1616 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
1717 2 South Bend Saint Joseph High School boys basketball team on
1818 3 winning the 2025 Indiana High School Athletic Association
1919 4 (IHSAA) Class 3A state championship.
2020 5 Whereas, On March 29, 2025, the Saint Joseph boys
2121 6 basketball team completed their season at Gainbridge
2222 7 Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning their first state
2323 8 title in program history;
2424 9 Whereas, With a record of 26-3, the Saint Joseph Huskies
2525 10 advanced to the state championship game against Indianapolis
2626 11 Crispus Attucks High School after defeating Maconaquah at the
2727 12 semi-state semifinals 115-81 and East Chicago Central at the
2828 13 semi-state championships 84-72;
2929 14 Whereas, After concluding the 2024 season with a final
3030 15 score of 57-67 in the state championship game, the Huskies, led
3131 16 by Coach Eric Gaff, returned to the state championship game
3232 17 for the fourth time in school history with the hope of
3333 18 redemption;
3434 19 Whereas, After struggling from the field, the Huskies took
3535 20 control with a 7-0 run with 3:44 remaining in the second
3636 21 quarter to lead the Crispus Attucks Tigers 24-18;
3737 22 Whereas, In a hotly-contested final with both teams tying
3838 23 eight times with four lead changes, including a 9-0 run by the

4040 1 Tigers in the final quarter to tie the game at 50-50, Husky
4141 2 senior Chase Konieczny initiated the Huskies' final 6-2 run with
4242 3 a tip-dunk with 53 seconds left and free-throws by senior
4343 4 Brashaun Woods and junior Nick Shrewsberry sealed the
4444 5 victory;
4545 6 Whereas, Shrewsberry and sophomore Elijah King finished
4646 7 the game with sixteen points each, Konieczny scored ten points
4747 8 and eleven rebounds, junior Ethan Roseman made six points,
4848 9 seven rebounds, and five assists, and Woods added eight points,
4949 10 a steal, an assist, a blocked shot, and a rebound to win the

5151 12 Whereas, Immediately following the game, Brashaun
5252 13 Woods was named the winner of the coveted Arthur L. Trester

5454 15 Whereas, With a final score of 56-52, the South Bend Saint

6060 21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
6161 22 congratulates the South Bend Saint Joseph High School boys
6262 23 basketball team on winning the 2025 IHSAA 3A state
6363 24 championship.
6464 25 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
6565 26 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Head Coach Eric Gaff,
6666 27 Assistant Coaches Harold Swanagan, Landon Booker, Luke
6767 28 Fisher, and Lee Ross, Jr., and each member of the South Bend
6868 29 Saint Joseph High School boys basketball team.
