A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the South Bend
Saint Joseph High School boys basketball team on winning the 2025

championship.

RESOLUTION No. _____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
2 South Bend Saint Joseph High School boys basketball team on
3 winning the 2025 Indiana High School Athletic Association
4 (IHSAA) Class 3A state championship.
5 Whereas, On March 29, 2025, the Saint Joseph boys
6 basketball team completed their season at Gainbridge
7 Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning their first state
8 title in program history;
9 Whereas, With a record of 26-3, the Saint Joseph Huskies
10 advanced to the state championship game against Indianapolis
11 Crispus Attucks High School after defeating Maconaquah at the
12 semi-state semifinals 115-81 and East Chicago Central at the
13 semi-state championships 84-72;
14 Whereas, After concluding the 2024 season with a final
15 score of 57-67 in the state championship game, the Huskies, led
16 by Coach Eric Gaff, returned to the state championship game
17 for the fourth time in school history with the hope of
18 redemption;
19 Whereas, After struggling from the field, the Huskies took
20 control with a 7-0 run with 3:44 remaining in the second
21 quarter to lead the Crispus Attucks Tigers 24-18;
22 Whereas, In a hotly-contested final with both teams tying
23 eight times with four lead changes, including a 9-0 run by the

1 Tigers in the final quarter to tie the game at 50-50, Husky
2 senior Chase Konieczny initiated the Huskies' final 6-2 run with
3 a tip-dunk with 53 seconds left and free-throws by senior
4 Brashaun Woods and junior Nick Shrewsberry sealed the
5 victory;
6 Whereas, Shrewsberry and sophomore Elijah King finished
7 the game with sixteen points each, Konieczny scored ten points
8 and eleven rebounds, junior Ethan Roseman made six points,
9 seven rebounds, and five assists, and Woods added eight points,
10 a steal, an assist, a blocked shot, and a rebound to win the
11 championship;
12 Whereas, Immediately following the game, Brashaun
13 Woods was named the winner of the coveted Arthur L. Trester
14 Mental Attitude Award for Class 3A; and
15 Whereas, With a final score of 56-52, the South Bend Saint
16 Joseph Huskies, through grit and resilience, won the first state
17 championship in program history: Therefore,
18 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
19 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
20 concurring:
21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
22 congratulates the South Bend Saint Joseph High School boys
23 basketball team on winning the 2025 IHSAA 3A state
24 championship.
25 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
26 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Head Coach Eric Gaff,
27 Assistant Coaches Harold Swanagan, Landon Booker, Luke
28 Fisher, and Lee Ross, Jr., and each member of the South Bend
29 Saint Joseph High School boys basketball team.
