14	14	2 Judge Andre Gammage.
15	15	3 Whereas, Magistrate Judge Andre Gammage is a graduate
16	16	4 of the Valparaiso University and the Valparaiso University
17	17	5 School of Law;
18	18	6 Whereas, Judge Gammage began his legal career as a St.
19	19	7 Joseph County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney before becoming
20	20	8 the managing partner for the Law Office of Berger;
21	21	9 Whereas, Judge Gammage was appointed to serve as the St.
22	22	10 Joseph Circuit Court Magistrate Judge, presiding over the
23	23	11 Civil Protective Order Court from 2014 until 2021;
24	24	12 Whereas, Judge Gammage currently presides over the
25	25	13 Veterans Treatment Court, where he assists veterans with
26	26	14 mental health and substance abuse illnesses navigate through
27	27	15 lower-level criminal cases;

29	29	17 Whereas, In 2019, Judge Gammage developed an
30	30	18 expungement initiative to help St. Joseph County residents in,
31	31	19 the initiative in partnership with the St. Joseph County
32	32	20 Prosecutor's Office, the University of Notre Dame Law School,
33	33	21 and other local partners, has processed over 1,500
34	34	22 expungements;
35	35	23 Whereas, Judge Gammage has provided leadership and
36	36	24 mentorship for the past 30 years to youth, from co-founding

38	38	1 Leaders and Positive Role Models to teaching students about
39	39	2 domestic violence awareness in South Bend schools;
40	40	3 Whereas, Judge Gammage has served on the Indiana
41	41	4 Domestic Relations Committee, the Indiana Judicial Education
42	42	5 Committee, and other committees that provide legal access to
43	43	6 residents;
44	44	7 Whereas, Judge Gammage served as a faculty member for
45	45	8 the National Judicial College of Juvenile and Family Court
46	46	9 Judges, teaches Intensive Trial Advocacy at the University of
47	47	10 Notre Dame School of Law, serves as Chairman of the Trustee
48	48	11 Board at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, is on the
49	49	12 board for the YMCA of Greater Michiana, is a member of the
50	50	13 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend, and is moderator for
51	51	14 South Bend Group Violence Intervention;
52	52	15 Whereas, Judge Gammage's recognitions include a:
53	53	16 commendation from the State of Alabama, a commendation
54	54	17 from the South Bend Police Department for life saving actions,
55	55	18 and a proclamation from Mayor Pete Buttigieg;
56	56	19 Whereas, Judge Gammage has received a Certificate of
57	57	20 Graduation from the Indiana Judicial College, the Key to the
58	58	21 City of South Bend, the Faithful Community Leader Award, the
59	59	22 Roland Kelly Award, and the Drum Major Award; and
60	60	23 Whereas, Judge Gammage is the proud father of Austin,
61	61	24 Valencia, Tre, and DeLorean Gammage: Therefore,

63	63	26 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
64	64	27 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
65	65	28 concurring:
66	66	29 SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly recognizes and
67	67	30 thanks Magistrate Judge Andre Gammage for his dedicated
68	68	31 service to St. Joseph County.
69	69	32 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
70	70	33 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Magistrate Judge Andre
71	71	34 Gammage.
