SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MR. PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Jack Laurie Group
2 on its 75th anniversary.
3 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group was founded in 1950 in Fort
4 Wayne, Indiana, beginning as a one-man operation in a modest
5 250-square-foot garage, and remains a proud family-owned
6 business under the leadership of Jack's son, John Laurie;
7 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group has grown over 75 years to
8 employ over 600 full-time team members across the State of
9 Indiana, with locations in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne,
10 Merrillville, Lafayette, Columbus, and South Bend, completing
11 over 400 projects annually;
12 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group has established itself as an
13 industry leader, offering a diverse range of services, including
14 commercial flooring, sports flooring, epoxy and polished
15 concrete, cleaning services, and residential flooring, while
16 serving the education, corporate, industrial, medical, non-
17 profit, and retail industries;
18 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group has built and operated a
19 flooring apprenticeship program certified by the Department of

1 Labor in Indiana, training the next generation of skilled
2 workers and upholding the values of workforce development;
3 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group is recognized not only for its
4 business excellence but also for its commitment to community
5 impact, notably receiving the 2024 Culture of Good Community
6 Impact Award for its work in the community, including a
7 collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort
8 Wayne, raising nearly $90,000 and participating in various
9 home builds to support families in need;
10 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group's enduring success is rooted
11 in its core values of integrity, accountability, candor, and
12 teamwork, fostering a strong, positive company culture that has
13 been integral to its achievements; and
14 Whereas, Jack Laurie Group owes its success to its
15 customers, past and present employees, and their families, and
16 pays tribute to its visionary CEO, John Laurie, for his
17 innovation, dedication, and service, and to its founder Jack
18 Laurie for creating a solid foundation: Therefore,
19 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
20 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate extends its warmest
22 congratulations to Jack Laurie Group for its extraordinary
23 contributions to the State of Indiana, its communities, and
24 industries, and wishes the company continued success in the
25 years to come.
26 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
27 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Jack Laurie Group.
