| 16 | 16 | | 3 women about city, county, and state government. |

| 17 | 17 | | 4 Whereas, The Hoosier Girls State program is designed to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 5 educate Indiana's young women in the duties, privileges, rights, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 6 and responsibilities of good citizenship by getting involved in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 7 the process of government; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 8 Whereas, The American Legion Auxiliary Units assist high |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 9 school principals and counselors to recognize leadership |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 10 qualities of young women to be selected to attend the Hoosier |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 11 Girls State program; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 12 Whereas, Trine University in Angola, Indiana, hosts the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 13 Hoosier Girls State program and the participants learn about |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 14 the execution of city, county, and state-level government |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 15 procedures while fulfilling the civics requirement for the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 16 Graduation Pathways Diploma; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 17 Whereas, The Hoosier Girls State program strives to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 18 develop leadership and pride in American citizens, to educate |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 19 students about our system of government, to instill a greater |
|---|
