| 12 | 12 | | I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: |

| 13 | 13 | | 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Bonnie McNair and |

| 14 | 14 | | 2 Lauren Hackert. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 3 Whereas, Bonnie McNair and Lauren Hackert have served |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 4 the public for twenty years and eight years at the Vigo County |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 5 Public Library, respectively; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 6 Whereas, After struggling with diabetes for a large part of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 7 her life, Bonnie was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease that |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 8 aggressively progressed from stage 3b to stage 5, and in May |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 9 2022, Bonnie started dialysis and began searching for a kidney |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 10 donor; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 11 Whereas, In July 2023, Lauren determined to undergo a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 12 lengthy screening process to help Bonnie achieve a new lease |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 13 on life and found she was a blood-type and tissue-type match |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 14 for Bonnie; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 15 Whereas, In February 2024, surgery was scheduled for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 16 Lauren to donate a kidney to Bonnie; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 17 Whereas, A year later, both are doing very well and, with |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 18 their successful story, have become advocates for organ |
|---|

| 35 | 35 | | 4 Bonnie and Lauren, whose donation of life and steadfastness in |

| 36 | 36 | | 5 continuing to work through their hardships and recoveries |

| 37 | 37 | | 6 embodies the selfless and gifting nature of librarians |

| 38 | 38 | | 7 throughout the state of Indiana: Therefore, |
