SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MR. PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION memorializing Asra Hussain.
2 Whereas, Asra Hussain was kind, artistic, and an
3 academically brilliant young woman with an infectious spirit
4 who was loved by many;
5
6 Whereas, Asra was a Carmel native who attended and left
7 a lasting impact at Orchard Park Elementary, Towne Meadow
8 Elementary, Creekside Middle School, and Carmel High
9 School;
10 Whereas, Asra received a Bachelor of Science in
11 Healthcare Management and Policy and a minor in Finance
12 from Indiana University. Upon graduating Asra would go on to
13 receive a Master of Health Administration from Columbia
14 University;
15 Whereas, Asra was dedicated to improving public health,
16 had a passion for civic engagement, and was an Indiana
17 University Civic Leader;
18 Whereas, Asra was a faithful member of the Muslim Student
19 Association and the Indianapolis Muslim Community

1 Association, where she would meet her husband Hamaad Raza;
2 and
3
4 Whereas, Asra is survived by her husband Hamaad Raza,
5 her parents Saba and Altaf, and sisters Afra and Arisa:
6 Therefore,
7 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
8 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
9 SECTION 1. The Indiana State Senate expresses its
10 sympathy and deepest condolences to the family of Asra
11 Hussain.
12 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
13 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the family of Asra
14 Hussain.
