| 17 | 17 | | I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: |

| 18 | 18 | | 1 A SENATE RESOLUTION to honor Dr. David Marcotte |

| 19 | 19 | | 2 upon his retirement for his service at the Indiana Urban Schools |

| 20 | 20 | | 3 Association (IUSA). |

| 21 | 21 | | 4 Whereas, David Marcotte graduated from Central |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 5 Michigan University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Music |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 6 Education, in 1989 received his Master of Music from Bowling |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 7 Green State University, and in 2015 received his Doctor of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 8 Philosophy from Indiana State University; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 9 Whereas, David has provided leadership to the 37-member |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 10 traditional public school districts of IUSA, representing |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 11 330,000 students, in advocating for urban education, policy |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 12 development, and funding equity since 2018; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 13 Whereas, David has served as an educational legislative |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 14 policy resource to the Indiana General Assembly; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 15 Whereas, David has been the representative of urban |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 16 school districts to various education groups, including school |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 17 boards, superintendents, principals, and the Indiana |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 18 Department of Education; and |
|---|
