55 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION approving the creation of a port
66 authority in Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas.
77 WHEREAS, The State of Kansas encourages economic development
88 and cooperation to maintain and foster economic stability and continued
99 growth needed for a prosperous economy; and
1010 WHEREAS, The economic prosperity and well-being of Wyandotte
1111 County and Kansas City, Kansas, will be enhanced and improved by the
1212 creation of a port authority; and
1313 WHEREAS, The governing body of the unified government of
1414 Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, believes that it is in the best
1515 interests of the citizens and residents of Wyandotte County and Kansas
1616 City, Kansas, that a port authority be created to preserve, enhance and
1717 improve the economic prosperity of Wyandotte County and Kansas City,
1818 Kansas; and
1919 WHEREAS, The governing body of the unified government of
2020 Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, proposes a resolution to
2121 create a Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, Port Authority:
2222 Now, therefore,
2323 Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Kansas, the House of
2424 Representatives concurring therein: That the legislature of the State of
2525 Kansas, in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 12-3402, and
2626 amendments thereto, hereby approves the creation of a port authority with
2727 all the powers, duties, limitations and obligations provided for in article
2828 34 of chapter 12 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments
2929 thereto, as the governing body of the unified government of Wyandotte
3030 County and Kansas City, Kansas, may create by appropriate resolutions
3131 or ordinances; and
3232 Be it further resolved: That the Secretary of State shall send an
3333 enrolled copy of this resolution to Senator Haley.
