| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The State of Kansas encourages economic development |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and cooperation to maintain and foster economic stability and continued |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | growth needed for a prosperous economy; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The economic prosperity and well-being of Wyandotte |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | County and Kansas City, Kansas, will be enhanced and improved by the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | creation of a port authority; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The governing body of the unified government of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, believes that it is in the best |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | interests of the citizens and residents of Wyandotte County and Kansas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | City, Kansas, that a port authority be created to preserve, enhance and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | improve the economic prosperity of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Kansas; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The governing body of the unified government of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, proposes a resolution to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | create a Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, Port Authority: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Now, therefore, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Kansas, the House of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Representatives concurring therein: That the legislature of the State of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Kansas, in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 12-3402, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | amendments thereto, hereby approves the creation of a port authority with |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | all the powers, duties, limitations and obligations provided for in article |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 34 of chapter 12 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | thereto, as the governing body of the unified government of Wyandotte |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | County and Kansas City, Kansas, may create by appropriate resolutions |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | or ordinances; and |

| 32 | 32 | | Be it further resolved: That the Secretary of State shall send an |
